Aging Is A Blessing

When I was younger, I didn't think much about getting older;
and I was dumb in thinking that an older person couldn't tell me anything, because I thought I knew everything.

When I turn 40, I started to grieve "the death" of my youth.
(I was so silly back then....LOL)

If I am blessed to be here on October 6,  I will be 52 years old.
No, I am not ashame to tell my age and you shouldn't be either.
Let me tell you why.
It's a blessing to open your eyes to a new day.
It's a blessing to still have time to make memories with your family and friends.
But more than anything, it's a blessing to have another day on this earth to get your life together and serve the Lord.
Don't fool yourself into thinking that you can do anything on this earth and still make it into Heaven (but that's another subject for another day).

Aging is something we all have to do.
The only way you can get pass it is dying young and no one wants to do that.

I no longer grieve my youth.
But I would by lying if I said I didn't wish I had the energy (and a few other things) I had back then.
I am at a new stage in my life and I thank God for every day He allows me to have here on this earth.

I try to give an encouraging word to those around me.
I cherish the moments I have with my children.
I don't care what people say or think about me, because they don't have a Heaven or hell to put me in when my life is over.
